About the movie Jane Austen's Mafia!
Presenting "Mafia!" – a 1998 comedy that takes classic crime saga clichés and turns them on their head. This isn't just another gangster movie; it's a biting parody of the genre where absurdity is taken to the absolute extreme. If you appreciate humor that plays on the edge and are ready to laugh at the serious faces of mob bosses, this film by director Jim Abrahams will be an excellent choice.
Plot
At the center of the events is Don Vincenzo Cortino, the head of a criminal organization that, ironically, is surprisingly disorganized. His established chaos comes to an end when a "treacherous assassination attempt" is made on the Don – he is shot 47 times. This seemingly fatal incident paradoxically forces the patriarch to ponder the meaning of life and, more importantly, the future of his criminal empire. Cortino needs a replacement, but not a simple one: the successor must be so incompetent as to "finally disorganize crime in the country." The task is not easy, as he has two sons. One is a brave war hero, perhaps too decent for such a business. The other is a complete psychopath and drug addict whose qualifications raise more questions than answers. Which of them will the "wise" Don choose to complete his life's work?
