Blow Out (1981)

While sound engineer Jack was recording sound effects for a new film, he witnessed a car losing control and falling into a river and rescued a girl named Sally from the submerged vehicle. The man who was with her died. Jack tries in vain to convince the police that he heard the sound of a gunshot simultaneously with the sound of a bursting tire. The assistant of the deceased, who turned out to be a well-known political figure, advises Jack to forget the story as soon as possible. After leaving the hospital, Jack decides to listen to the recording he made that day. There can be no doubt — he clearly hears the sound of a gunshot. Moreover, there is another witness to the car accident — photographer Manny, who captured the entire sequence of events. Jack secretly visits Manny's studio and finds photographs of Sally there, taken with famous people in rather unequivocal poses…
